The Grand Finals of the Toyota GAZOO RACING (GR) VELOCITY ESPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP was held recently at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur (Centre Court) on saw top 40 qualifiers challenging in the final round of the biggest national Esports racing event in Malaysia.
UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) became the first Malaysian car company to be associated with the fast-growing Esports racing activity with its involvement last year..
The 2019 Toyota GAZOO RACING (GR) VELOCITY ESPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP saw about 700 enthusiastic participants in time-trial qualifying rounds at Cove Esports Hub in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, Selangor which took place on 31st August, 1st, 14th and 15th September.
This year, the overall winners share a bigger prize pool of RM70,000:
Champion - RM20,000
1st Runner up – RM10,000
2nd Runner up – RM5,000
4th – 10th place – RM2,000 each
11th – 20th place – RM1,000 each
There was also a Lucky Draw that offer RM11, 000 worth of gaming products.
The Toyota GAZOO RACING (GR) VELOCITY ESPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP virtually complements the high-performance activities of Toyota, including the on-track racing of Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival which takes place four times a year at various locations across the country.

All participants uses the latest 2019 Toyota GR Supra, Toyota’s flagship sportscar developed not only for the real motorsports but also for the competition in Gran Turismo Esports.
This year, the racers raced around the Fuji Speedway in Japan, the famous 1.475-km long circuit with one of the longest straights in the world. The top 10 finalist competed head to head on a 10-lap race on a best-of-three tracks which are Kyoto Driving Park, Suzuka Circuit as well as Fuji Speedway.
